LIGHT-RECEIVING DEVICE AND RANGE FINDING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18492655 titled 'LIGHT-RECEIVING DEVICE AND RANGE FINDING APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation
The abstract describes a light-receiving device with a wide dynamic range, consisting of a pixel array with two types of pixels - one with a higher sensitivity and a wider optical band pass filter, and the other with a lower sensitivity and a narrower optical band pass filter.
- Two types of pixels with different sensitivities and optical band pass filters are arranged in a pixel array.
- The second pixel has a narrower full width at half maximum of the optical band pass filter compared to the first pixel.
- The second pixel has a lower sensitivity than the first pixel.

Original Abstract Submitted
Disclosed is a light-receiving device having a wide dynamic range. The light receiving device comprises a pixel array in which a first pixel provided with a first optical band pass filter and having a first sensitivity and a second pixel provided with a second optical band pass filter and having a second sensitivity that is lower than the first sensitivity are two-dimensionally arranged. A full width at half maximum of the second optical band pass filter is narrower than a full width at half maximum of the first optical band pass filter.
