SHOE CARE APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18372464 titled 'SHOE CARE APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a shoe care apparatus that includes a chamber for holding shoes, a heat pump device for heating air to be supplied to the chamber, a fan for circulating the heated air, a temperature sensor for monitoring the air temperature, and a controller for controlling the operation of the heat pump device and the fan.

  • The shoe care apparatus has a chamber for accommodating shoes.
  • A heat pump device is used to heat the air that will be supplied to the chamber.
  • The heat pump device includes a condenser for heating the air and a compressor for discharging a coolant to the condenser.
  • A fan is used to supply the heated air to the chamber.
  • A temperature sensor is used to acquire the temperature of the air to be supplied to the chamber.
  • The controller operates the compressor and the fan together in a synchronous operation mode based on the temperature sensor's signal.
  • The controller also operates the fan alone in an asynchronous operation mode after a predetermined time period has elapsed since the compressor stopped.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Shoe care and maintenance: The apparatus can be used to dry and warm shoes, helping to eliminate moisture and odors, and extend the lifespan of the shoes.
  • Footwear industry: Shoe manufacturers or retailers can use this apparatus to provide added value to their customers by offering a shoe care solution that can be used at home.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Moisture and odor elimination: The apparatus helps to remove moisture and odors from shoes, preventing the growth of bacteria and fungi.
  • Shoe drying: The heat pump device and fan combination efficiently dries wet shoes, reducing the risk of damage and discomfort.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Convenience: Users can easily dry and warm their shoes at home without the need for additional equipment or manual effort.
  • Improved shoe hygiene: By eliminating moisture and odors, the apparatus helps to maintain a clean and hygienic environment for the feet.
  • Extended shoe lifespan: Proper care and maintenance provided by the apparatus can help to prolong the life of shoes, saving money for the users.

Original Abstract Submitted

A shoe care apparatus according to one aspect includes a chamber for accommodating shoes; a heat pump device including a condenser for heating air to be supplied to the chamber, and a compressor for discharging a coolant to the condenser; a fan for supplying the heated air to the chamber; a temperature sensor for acquiring the temperature of the air to be supplied to the chamber; and a controller. The controller performs a synchronous operation mode controlling the compressor and the fan to operate together, based on receipt of a signal from the temperature sensor, and performs an asynchronous operation mode in which the fan is operated without operating the compressor in response to a predetermined time period having elapsed after the stop of the operation of the compressor.
