The present invention relates to a 3-hydroxypropionate crystal which comprises an alkali metal salt of 3-hydroxypropionic acid or a hydrate thereof, and comprises a first peak at a predetermined diffraction angle (2θ±0.2°) in an X-ray diffraction spectrum (XRD), a method for preparing the same, and a process of recovering 3-hydroxypropionic acid.
