SYSTEMS AND TECHNIQUES FOR HYBRID LIVE AND REMOTE ON-DEMAND SESSIONS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240379017 titled 'SYSTEMS AND TECHNIQUES FOR HYBRID LIVE AND REMOTE ON-DEMAND SESSIONS

    • Simplified Explanation:**

The patent application describes systems and techniques for extended reality learning systems that combine on-demand and live learning experiences. Participants can join class sessions remotely, receive class content on their devices, and the system can classify the session as either on-demand or live based on instructor availability. Time spent in each type of session is tracked, and a time spent value is determined for each participant.

    • Key Features and Innovation:**
  • Integration of on-demand and live learning experiences in extended reality systems.
  • Automatic classification of sessions based on instructor availability.
  • Tracking of time spent in live and on-demand sessions for each participant.
  • Calculation of a time spent value for participants based on their session activities.
    • Potential Applications:**

This technology can be applied in educational settings, corporate training programs, virtual conferences, and remote workshops.

    • Problems Solved:**

This technology addresses the need for flexible and interactive learning experiences that combine on-demand and live elements seamlessly.

    • Benefits:**
  • Enhanced learning flexibility for participants.
  • Improved engagement through a mix of on-demand and live sessions.
  • Efficient tracking and analysis of participant activities.
    • Commercial Applications:**
  • "Hybrid Extended Reality Learning Systems for Flexible Training Programs"
  • This technology can be utilized by educational institutions, corporate training departments, and online learning platforms to offer dynamic and engaging learning experiences.
    • Prior Art:**

Prior art related to this technology may include research on hybrid learning systems, extended reality applications in education, and remote training platforms.

    • Frequently Updated Research:**

Researchers may be exploring the impact of hybrid learning models on student engagement and performance, as well as the effectiveness of extended reality technologies in educational settings.

    • Questions about Extended Reality Learning Systems:**

1. How does this technology improve the learning experience for remote participants? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing and scaling up hybrid on-demand and live learning systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

systems and techniques are provided for extended reality learning systems for hybrid on-demand and live learning systems. a method can include establishing a class session with remote participants; sending class content to a device of a participant; classifying a session of the participant as an on-demand or live session based on an availability of an instructor to communicate with the participant during the session; tracking, based on messages between the device and an online system, time spent by the device in the live session and/or time spent in the on-demand session; based on a result of classifying the session as the on-demand or live session, adding the time spent in the session to a live time counter or an on-demand time counter for the participant; and determining a time spent value based on the live time counter and the on-demand time counter.
