METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING SIGNAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240356587 titled 'METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING SIGNAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure involves a terminal in a wireless communication system receiving at least one reference signal from a base station, generating channel status information based on the reference signal, and providing feedback to the base station on the generated channel status information. The reference signal may be transmitted from the base station to the terminal through a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), and the first beamforming transmitted from the base station to the RIS may be determined based on the feedback.
- Receiving reference signals from a base station
- Generating channel status information based on the reference signals
- Providing feedback to the base station on the channel status information
- Transmission of reference signals through a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS)
- Determining beamforming based on feedback
Potential Applications: - Wireless communication systems - 5G networks - Internet of Things (IoT) devices
Problems Solved: - Improving signal quality in wireless communication - Enhancing network efficiency - Optimizing beamforming techniques
Benefits: - Increased data transmission speeds - Enhanced network reliability - Improved overall communication performance
Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Wireless Communication Systems for Next-Generation Networks This technology can be utilized in telecommunications companies, network infrastructure providers, and IoT device manufacturers to improve the efficiency and performance of wireless communication systems.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does the use of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) impact wireless communication systems? 2. What are the potential implications of optimizing beamforming techniques in network performance?
Original Abstract Submitted
the present disclosure may include receiving, by a terminal in a wireless communication system, at least one reference signal from a base station, generating channel status information after channel measurement based on the at least one reference signal, and giving feedback on the generated channel status information to the base station, wherein the at least one reference signal may be a reference signal that is transmitted from the base station to the terminal through a reconfigurable intelligent surface (ris), and first beamforming transmitted from the base station to the ris may be determined based on the feedback.
