ELECTRONIC DEVICE, SERVER COMPUTER, AND OPERATING METHOD THEREFOR - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240354923 titled 'ELECTRONIC DEVICE, SERVER COMPUTER, AND OPERATING METHOD THEREFOR

The abstract describes an electronic apparatus and a server computer that work together to process frames with image quality setting information. The electronic apparatus can operate in different modes to prioritize image quality or input lag.

  • The electronic apparatus receives frames from the server computer, some with image quality setting information and some without.
  • Frames with image quality setting information are processed and displayed based on the settings included.
  • Frames without image quality setting information are processed using information from the previous frame and displayed accordingly.

Key Features and Innovation: - The electronic apparatus can prioritize image quality or input lag based on the selected mode. - Frames are processed differently depending on the presence of image quality setting information. - This system allows for efficient and optimized display of frames with varying image quality requirements.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be used in gaming consoles, streaming devices, and video processing systems. - It can enhance the viewing experience by adjusting image quality settings in real-time.

Problems Solved: - Addresses the challenge of balancing image quality and input lag in real-time processing. - Provides a solution for optimizing frame display based on image quality requirements.

Benefits: - Improved visual experience with optimized image quality settings. - Reduced input lag for smoother and more responsive display.

Commercial Applications: - This technology can be applied in gaming consoles, streaming services, and video processing equipment to enhance user experience and performance.

Prior Art: - Researchers can explore prior art related to real-time image processing, frame display optimization, and input lag reduction in electronic devices.

Frequently Updated Research: - Stay updated on advancements in real-time image processing, frame display optimization, and input lag reduction in electronic devices.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the electronic apparatus prioritize between image quality and input lag? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology in the gaming industry?

Original Abstract Submitted

an electronic apparatus, a server computer, and an operating method of the electronic apparatus are provided. the electronic apparatus is configured to receive, from a server computer, at least one frame including image quality setting information and/or at least one frame not including the image quality setting information, according to a frame processing mode selected from among an image quality priority mode and an input lag priority mode. the at least one frame including the image quality setting information is processed by referring to the image quality setting information included in the at least one frame and displayed, and the at least one frame not including the image quality setting information is processed by referring to image quality setting information about a previous frame processed prior to the at least one frame not including the image quality setting information, and displayed.
