IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AND CRIMPING TONER IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18610301 titled 'IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM, IMAGE FORMING METHOD, AND CRIMPING TONER IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

The patent application describes an image forming system that applies pressure-responsive crimping toner onto a recording medium to create a net-dot structure with 300 or more screen lines. The system includes a heating unit to heat the toner and a pressurizing unit to pressurize stacked bodies containing the recording medium and heated toner.

  • Applying pressure-responsive crimping toner onto a recording medium to create a net-dot structure with high screen line density.
  • Heating the crimping toner applied to the recording medium.
  • Pressurizing stacked bodies containing the recording medium and heated toner in the thickness direction.
  • The system aims to improve image quality and durability by utilizing the unique properties of the crimping toner.
  • The technology offers a novel approach to image formation on recording media.

Potential Applications: The technology can be applied in printing, copying, and other image forming processes that require high-quality and durable prints.

Problems Solved: The system addresses the need for improved image quality and durability in image forming processes.

Benefits: Enhanced image quality, durability, and overall performance in image forming applications.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in commercial printing services, office printers, and other image forming equipment to produce high-quality prints with improved durability.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the pressure-responsive crimping toner improve image quality on the recording medium? 2. What are the potential cost implications of implementing this technology in image forming systems?

Original Abstract Submitted

An image forming system includes an applying unit that applies a crimping toner having pressure-responsiveness onto at least a portion of a surface of a recording medium to form a net-dot structure having 300 or more of screen lines, a heating unit that heats the crimping toner applied to the recording medium, and a pressurizing unit that pressurizes, in a thickness direction, a stacked body in which the recording medium is folded with the heated crimping toner interposed or a stacked body in which the recording medium and another medium are stacked with the heated crimping toner interposed.
