INTELLIGENT ROUTE SELECTION AND DISTRIBUTION IN SD-WAN ROUTING CONTROLLERS BASED ON PEER'S TRANSPORT CHARACTERISTICS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18349752 titled 'INTELLIGENT ROUTE SELECTION AND DISTRIBUTION IN SD-WAN ROUTING CONTROLLERS BASED ON PEER'S TRANSPORT CHARACTERISTICS

Simplified Explanation:

The technology described in the abstract intelligently selects routes to be distributed to edge network devices from SD-WAN controllers based on route viability conditions.

  • Utilizes logic to determine the usability of routes between edge network devices
  • Selects routes intelligently instead of indiscriminately distributing them
  • Enhances the efficiency of routing in SD-WAN networks
  • Improves network performance and reliability
  • Optimizes the utilization of network resources

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in various industries such as telecommunications, cloud computing, and IoT to enhance network performance and reliability.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the inefficiencies in route distribution in SD-WAN networks, leading to improved network performance and reliability.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced network performance
  • Improved reliability of network connections
  • Optimized resource utilization
  • Increased efficiency in routing

Commercial Applications: Optimized routing technology can be utilized by network service providers, cloud service providers, and enterprises to improve the performance and reliability of their networks, leading to better customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Questions about Routing Optimization: 1. How does intelligent route selection improve network performance? 2. What are the key benefits of utilizing logic to determine route viability in SD-WAN networks?

Original Abstract Submitted

The present technology intelligently selects routes to be distributed to edge network device from SD-WAN controllers. Rather than indiscriminately distributing routes, the present technology utilizes logic to account for route viability conditions to determine whether a route between a first edge network device and a second edge network device is likely to be usable between the edge network devices.
