WASHING MACHINE AND CONTROLLING METHOD FOR THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17955831 titled 'WASHING MACHINE AND CONTROLLING METHOD FOR THE SAME

Simplified Explanation

The abstract describes a washing machine that can accurately determine the state of a water supplier during a water supply cycle. It includes a tub, a drum, a driving motor, a water supplier, a water level sensor, and a controller.

  • The tub is where the clothes are placed for washing.
  • The drum is rotationally arranged in the tub and is responsible for agitating the clothes.
  • The driving motor is used to rotate the drum.
  • The water supplier is responsible for supplying water into the tub.
  • The water level sensor measures the water level in the tub.
  • The controller controls the driving motor and performs weight detection courses.

The patent/innovation includes the following points:

  • The washing machine performs a first weight detection course before water supply starts to accurately determine the weight of the clothes.
  • After the water supply starts, the controller monitors the water level in the tub.
  • If the water level is below a preset level after a certain time, the controller initiates a second weight detection course.
  • The second weight detection course helps to determine if any clothes have been added or removed during the washing process.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Household washing machines
  • Commercial laundry facilities
  • Industrial washing machines

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Accurate determination of the weight of clothes before and during the washing process
  • Ensuring proper water supply based on the weight of the clothes
  • Detecting any changes in the weight of the clothes during the washing process

Benefits of this technology:

  • Improved washing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Water and energy savings by supplying the appropriate amount of water based on the weight of the clothes
  • Enhanced user experience with automatic weight detection and adjustment

Original Abstract Submitted

A washing machine capable of determining an accurate state of a water supplier during a water supply course includes a tub; a drum rotationally arranged in the tub; a driving motor configured to rotate the drum; a water supplier configured to supply water into the tub; a water level sensor configured to measure a water level in the tub; and a controller configured to control the driving motor to perform a first weight detection course before water supply is started, and control the driving motor to perform a second weight detection course based on the water level in the tub being less than a preset water level when a predetermined time has elapsed after the water supply into the tub is started.
