SEWING MACHINE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18744850 titled 'SEWING MACHINE

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a sewing machine controller that can sew both utility patterns and tapering patterns continuously in a first direction, based on sewing data, conditions, and captured images.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Continuous sewing of utility patterns and tapering patterns in a first direction.
  • Displaying a tapering pattern on a captured image for accurate sewing.
  • Controlling needle bar, feed dog, and actuator for precise sewing operations.
  • Displaying the sewing progress on a display for user convenience.

Potential Applications: This technology can be used in the textile industry for automated sewing of various patterns, including utility and tapering patterns, improving efficiency and accuracy in garment production.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the challenges of accurately sewing tapering patterns that seamlessly transition from utility patterns, ensuring high-quality finished products.

Benefits: The technology offers increased precision and efficiency in sewing operations, reducing manual labor and improving the overall quality of sewn products.

Commercial Applications: Title: Automated Sewing Machine Controller for Utility and Tapering Patterns This technology can be commercially applied in garment manufacturing, textile production, and other industries that require precise and automated sewing operations.

Prior Art: Researchers interested in this technology may explore prior patents related to sewing machine controllers, automated sewing systems, and image-based sewing technologies.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers in the field of textile engineering and automation may conduct studies on improving the accuracy and speed of sewing operations using advanced control systems and image processing techniques.

'Questions about Sewing Machine Controller Technology: 1. How does the sewing machine controller ensure accurate sewing of tapering patterns? 2. What are the potential implications of this technology on the textile industry's production processes?

Original Abstract Submitted

A controller of a sewing machine acquires sewing data for forming a utility pattern continuously in a first direction, acquires a condition for sewing a tapering pattern including a tapering portion, acquires a captured image captured by an image sensor, generates a display image in which the tapering pattern is arranged on the captured image based on the sewing data, the condition, and the captured image, controls a needle bar, a feed dog, and an actuator in accordance with the sewing data to sew the utility pattern, after starting sewing of the utility pattern, controls a display to display the display image, and performs a tapering pattern sewing operation of, after starting display of the display image, controlling the needle bar, the feed dog, and the actuator in accordance with the sewing data and the condition to sew the tapering pattern that is continuous with the utility pattern.
