MAGNETIC COMPONENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18625328 titled 'MAGNETIC COMPONENT

The magnetic component described in the patent application includes a core with protrusions, first and second conductors with flat wires that define turns around the protrusions, and a gap between adjacent turns of the conductors.

  • Core with protrusions extending in a first direction
  • First conductor with a flat wire forming a turn around the first protrusion
  • Second conductor with a flat wire forming a turn around the second protrusion
  • Adjacent turns of the first and second conductors are offset in two dimensions to create a gap
  • Smallest dimension of the flat wires is parallel or substantially parallel to the first direction

Potential Applications: - Electrical transformers - Inductors in electronic circuits - Electric motors

Problems Solved: - Efficient magnetic field generation - Reduction of electromagnetic interference - Compact design for space-constrained applications

Benefits: - Improved magnetic component performance - Enhanced energy efficiency - Space-saving design

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Magnetic Component Technology for Enhanced Electrical Devices This technology can be utilized in various industries such as electronics, automotive, and renewable energy for improved performance and efficiency in electrical devices.

Questions about Magnetic Component Technology: 1. How does the offset arrangement of the conductors improve the magnetic field generation? The offset arrangement of the conductors creates a gap between adjacent turns, reducing electromagnetic interference and improving the efficiency of the magnetic component.

2. What are the key advantages of using flat wires in the design of the magnetic component? Flat wires allow for a more compact design and efficient utilization of space, making the magnetic component suitable for various applications in electronics and electrical engineering.

Original Abstract Submitted

A magnetic component includes a core including first and second protrusions extending in a first direction, a first conductor including a first flat wire that defines a first turn that extends around the first protrusion such that a smallest dimension of the first flat wire is parallel or substantially parallel to the first direction, and a second conductor including a second flat wire that defines a second turn that extends around the second protrusion such that a smallest dimension of the second flat wire is parallel or substantially parallel to the first direction. The first and the second turns are adjacent to each other and are off set in two dimensions to define a gap between adjacent turns of the first and the second conductors.
