INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18627519 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes an information processing apparatus that obtains color profiles for print media based on whether a base coating process is executed before printing. The apparatus outputs a color profile independent of the print medium type if the base coating process is performed, and a color profile specific to the print medium type if the base coating process is not executed.

  • The apparatus obtains a first color profile for print media that undergoes a base coating process.
  • It acquires a second color profile for print media that does not undergo a base coating process.
  • The output unit outputs the appropriate color profile based on the presence or absence of the base coating process.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Different color profiles are obtained based on whether a base coating process is performed before printing on the print medium.
  • The color profiles are independent of the type of print medium or specific to the print medium type.
  • The output unit outputs the correct color profile for the print medium based on the base coating process setting.

Potential Applications: This technology can be used in printing processes where different color profiles are required based on whether a base coating process is executed.

Problems Solved: This technology addresses the need for accurate color profiles for print media based on the presence or absence of a base coating process.

Benefits:

  • Improved color accuracy in printing processes.
  • Efficient handling of color profiles based on the print medium treatment.

Commercial Applications: The technology can be utilized in commercial printing services to ensure optimal color output based on the print medium treatment.

Questions about the Technology: 1. How does the information processing apparatus determine whether a base coating process is executed before printing? 2. What are the potential implications of using different color profiles for print media based on the base coating process?

Original Abstract Submitted

There is provided with an information processing apparatus. A first obtaining unit obtains, in a case where a setting for executing a base coating process for a print medium before printing on the print medium is made, a first color profile independent of a type of a print medium, and obtains, in a case where the setting for executing the base coating process is not made, a second color profile corresponding a type of the print medium. An output unit outputs the first color profile for the print medium having undergone the base coating process, and output the second color profile for the print medium not having undergone the base coating process.
