SHEET SUPPLYING APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18756279 titled 'SHEET SUPPLYING APPARATUS AND PRINTING APPARATUS
Simplified Explanation:
The patent application describes a sheet supply apparatus that can wind a sheet tightly. It includes a driving unit to rotate a roll holding the sheet in different directions, a sensor to detect the leading end of the sheet, and a contact body to press the roll's outer surface.
- The driving unit can rotate the roll in two directions for feeding the sheet.
- The sensor detects the leading end of the sheet.
- The contact body presses the outer surface of the roll.
- The driving unit rotates the roll in the opposite direction until the sensor detects the leading end of the sheet.
Key Features and Innovation:
- Dual-direction rotation capability for feeding the sheet.
- Sensor for detecting the leading end of the sheet.
- Contact body for pressing the roll's outer surface.
Potential Applications:
This technology can be used in industries that require precise winding of sheets, such as printing, packaging, and manufacturing.
Problems Solved:
This technology addresses the issue of ensuring tight winding of sheets without any slack or misalignment.
Benefits:
- Improved efficiency in sheet winding processes.
- Enhanced quality of wound sheets.
- Reduced material wastage.
Commercial Applications:
Potential commercial applications include sheet processing equipment manufacturers, printing companies, packaging companies, and industrial automation companies.
Prior Art:

Original Abstract Submitted
A sheet supplying apparatus, which is capable of winding a sheet tightly, includes a driving unit configured to cause a roll including a wound consecutive sheet to rotate in a first direction for feeding the sheet or a second direction opposite to the first direction, a sensor that detects a leading end portion of the sheet separated from an outer circumferential surface of the roll, and a contact body that presses the outer circumferential surface. Before the sheet is fed, in a state in which the contact body presses the outer circumferential surface, the driving unit causes the roll to continuously rotate in the second direction until a detection cycle of the leading end portion by the sensor is less than a predetermined value.
