MOTHER SUBSTRATE FOR DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18592579 titled 'MOTHER SUBSTRATE FOR DISPLAY DEVICE AND DISPLAY DEVICE

The abstract describes a mother substrate with panel portions, a margin portion, and a first partition in the margin portion. The first partition has a first lower portion with an annular side surface and a first upper portion with an annular protrusion. The inner circumferential portion includes linear portions and corner portions connecting them, with linear extensions in the side surface and protrusion end in linear portions, and arcuate shapes in corner portions.

  • Mother substrate with panel portions, margin portion, and first partition.
  • First partition includes annular side surface and protrusion.
  • Inner circumferential portion with linear and corner portions.
  • Linear portions have linear extensions, while corner portions have arcuate shapes.

Potential Applications: - Display panels - Electronic devices - Semiconductor manufacturing

Problems Solved: - Enhanced structural integrity - Improved design flexibility

Benefits: - Increased durability - Better performance - Cost-effective manufacturing

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Mother Substrate for Advanced Electronics This technology can be used in the production of display panels, electronic devices, and semiconductor components, offering improved structural integrity and design flexibility. The market implications include enhanced product quality and cost savings in manufacturing processes.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the innovative design of the mother substrate improve the performance of electronic devices? 2. What specific advantages does the annular protrusion provide in terms of structural integrity and design flexibility?

Original Abstract Submitted

According to one embodiment, a mother substrate includes panel portions, a margin portion, and a first partition provided in the margin portion. The first partition includes a first lower portion including an annular side surface, and a first upper portion provided on the first lower portion and including an annular protrusion which protrudes from the side surface. An inner circumferential portion includes, in plan view, a plurality of linear portions and a plurality of corner portions each connecting the adjacent two linear portions. In the linear portions, the side surface and an end portion of the protrusion linearly extend. In the corner portions, the side surface and the end portion of the protrusion are formed into an arcuate shape.
