BATTERY PACK, SAFETY CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND ELECTRIC APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18749062 titled 'BATTERY PACK, SAFETY CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR, AND ELECTRIC APPARATUS
The abstract of the patent application describes a battery pack that includes a safety protection mechanism to ensure the safe operation of the battery cells.
- The battery pack consists of a box assembly, battery cells, and a safety protection mechanism.
- The safety protection mechanism has two states: the first state insulates the battery cells from the box assembly, while the second state allows electrical connection between some of the battery cells and the box assembly.
- The safety protection mechanism switches to the second state when a preset trigger condition is met, ensuring the safety of the battery pack during operation.
Potential Applications: - Electric vehicles - Portable electronic devices - Energy storage systems
Problems Solved: - Preventing short circuits in battery packs - Ensuring the safety of battery cells during operation
Benefits: - Enhanced safety of battery packs - Increased reliability of electronic devices - Extended lifespan of battery cells
Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Safety Battery Packs for Various Applications" This technology can be utilized in electric vehicles, consumer electronics, and energy storage systems to improve safety and reliability, potentially increasing market demand for products incorporating this innovation.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does the safety protection mechanism in the battery pack prevent short circuits? 2. What are the specific trigger conditions that cause the safety protection mechanism to switch states?
Original Abstract Submitted
A battery pack includes: a box assembly; a plurality of battery cells disposed in the box assembly; and a safety protection mechanism disposed in the box assembly and having a first state and a second state. When the safety protection mechanism is in the first state, the plurality of battery cells are insulated from the box assembly. The safety protection mechanism is in the second state when a preset trigger condition is met, and when the safety protection mechanism is in the second state, at least some of the battery cells are electrically connected to the box assembly.
