METHOD FOR PROVIDING IMAGE, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18754896 titled 'METHOD FOR PROVIDING IMAGE, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING SAME

The abstract describes an electronic device with a camera, processor, and memory that can adjust camera exposure based on the brightness and weight of objects in the image.

  • Camera, processor, and memory components in the electronic device.
  • Instructions stored in memory for image processing.
  • Image obtained via camera.
  • Segmentation performed to identify areas corresponding to objects.
  • Brightness of areas obtained.
  • Weight of objects identified.
  • Camera exposure controlled based on brightness and weight.

Potential Applications: - Photography - Surveillance systems - Automated image processing

Problems Solved: - Ensuring proper exposure in varying lighting conditions - Enhancing image quality by adjusting exposure dynamically

Benefits: - Improved image quality - Automated exposure adjustment - Enhanced user experience in photography

Commercial Applications: Title: "Smart Camera Technology for Enhanced Image Quality" This technology can be utilized in smartphones, security cameras, and other devices to improve image quality and user experience in various applications.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the device determine the weight of objects in the image? - The weight of objects is identified through the segmentation process based on various factors such as size, color, and texture. 2. Can the exposure adjustment be manually controlled by the user? - The technology primarily focuses on automatic exposure adjustment based on object brightness and weight, but manual control may be possible through additional settings.

Original Abstract Submitted

An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present disclosure includes a camera, a processor, and memory storing instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the electronic device obtain an image via the camera, identify at least one area in the image by performing segmentation on the image, the at least one area respectively corresponding to at least one object included in the image, obtain a brightness of the at least one area, identify at least one weight respectively corresponding to the at least one object, and control an exposure of the camera based on the brightness of the at least one area and the at least one weight.
