a channel estimation method includes receiving, by ue from a communication device, first target information. the first target information is used to indicate: parameters used when a bsc device sends a backscattered signal or whether to perform joint channel estimation on a first signal; and determining, by the ue based on the first target information, whether to perform the joint channel estimation on the first signal. the backscattered signal is obtained by the bsc device by modulating the first signal.
