Radio Link Failure Report Enhancements for Handover Failure - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18692473 titled 'Radio Link Failure Report Enhancements for Handover Failure
The abstract describes a method in a wireless device for reporting handover failure (HOF) in a wireless network. This method involves detecting that a HOF has occurred during the reconfiguration of connections to the network and sending messages to report the HOF, including indications of listen-before-talk (LBT) failures or random access problems experienced during the reconfiguration.
- Detecting handover failure (HOF) during connection reconfiguration
- Sending messages to report the HOF to the wireless network
- Messages include indications of listen-before-talk (LBT) failures or random access problems
- Improving network performance and reliability
- Enhancing communication between wireless devices and the network
Potential Applications: - Telecommunications industry - Mobile network operators - IoT devices - Smart city infrastructure - Industrial automation
Problems Solved: - Addressing handover failures in wireless networks - Improving network efficiency and reliability - Enhancing communication quality for wireless devices
Benefits: - Reduced network downtime - Improved user experience - Enhanced network performance - Increased reliability of wireless connections
Commercial Applications: "Wireless Network Handover Failure Reporting Method for Improved Network Performance and Reliability"
Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method contribute to the overall efficiency of wireless networks? 2. What are the potential implications of reducing handover failures in terms of user experience and network reliability?
Original Abstract Submitted
A method in a wireless device for reporting handover failure, HOF, in a wireless network comprises the steps of deter mining () that a HOF has occurred in connection with a reconfiguration of at least one connection of the wireless device to the wire less network and sending (), to the wireless network, one or more messages reporting the HOF, the one or more messages comprising one or both of an indication of at least one listen-before-talk, LBT, failure experienced by the wireless device in connection with the reconfiguration or an indication of a random access problem experienced by the wireless device in connection with the reconfiguration.
