WATER INJECTION UNIT AND ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240342526 titled 'WATER INJECTION UNIT AND ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME

The abstract describes a water injection unit that can detect fires in a battery container and automatically spray gas into the water tank to discharge fire extinguishing water due to gas pressure.

  • Water injection unit with an enclosure and connection port for fire-fighting hoses or communication cables
  • Water tank connected to the connection port within the enclosure
  • Gas storage tank connected to the water tank to supply gas for fire extinguishing
  • Controller to detect fires and activate gas spraying and water discharge
  • Innovative system for automatic fire suppression in battery containers

Potential Applications: - Fire suppression in battery storage facilities - Industrial applications requiring automated fire extinguishing systems

Problems Solved: - Rapid detection and suppression of fires in battery containers - Prevention of fire damage in sensitive environments

Benefits: - Enhanced safety in battery storage facilities - Automatic fire suppression without human intervention

Commercial Applications: Title: Automated Fire Suppression System for Battery Containers This technology can be used in warehouses, data centers, and other facilities with battery storage to prevent fire accidents and minimize damage.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the system differentiate between a fire and other sources of heat?

  - The controller is programmed to detect specific temperature thresholds indicative of a fire.

2. Can the system be integrated with existing fire alarm systems?

  - Yes, the controller can be connected to existing fire alarm systems for seamless integration.

Original Abstract Submitted

a water injection unit includes an enclosure including, on at least one outer wall, a connection port connectable to a fire-fighting connection hose or a communication cable, a water tank connected to the connection port and located in the enclosure, a gas storage tank connected to the water tank to supply gas into the water tank, and a controller connected to the connection port and the gas storage tank, and configured to detect whether a fire occurs in the battery container, and allow gas in the gas storage tank to be sprayed into the water tank and allow fire extinguishing water in the water tank to be discharged due to gas pressure.
