DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18539971 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

The abstract describes a display device with a display panel that includes a bending region between two other regions, sensing electrodes on one region, a data driver on another region, sensing lines connected to the sensing electrodes, and a cover layer on the sensing lines.

  • Display panel with bending region
  • Sensing electrodes on one region
  • Data driver on another region
  • Sensing lines connected to sensing electrodes
  • Cover layer on sensing lines

Potential Applications: - Flexible displays - Wearable technology - Foldable devices

Problems Solved: - Enhancing flexibility of displays - Improving user interaction with devices

Benefits: - Increased durability - Enhanced user experience - Versatile design options

Commercial Applications: Title: "Innovative Display Technology for Flexible Devices" This technology can be used in smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and other electronic devices, catering to the growing demand for flexible and interactive displays in the market.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the bending region in the display panel improve the device's functionality? 2. What are the advantages of having sensing electrodes and sensing lines in different regions of the display panel?

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device includes: a display panel including a first region, a second region, and a bending region located along a first direction, the bending region being between the first and second regions; a plurality of sensing electrodes on the first region; a data driver on the second region; sensing lines on the first region connected to the sensing electrodes, and extending in the first direction toward opposite sides of the data driver opposite to each other in a second direction crossing the first direction; and a cover layer on the sensing lines.
