DISPLAY DEVICE TO DISPLAY THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGES AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18435715 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE TO DISPLAY THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGES AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME

The abstract describes a display device with an optical member containing three-dimensional lenses, a display module connected to the optical member, and a main controller. The display module includes a display panel with sub-pixels and a storage device storing offset data representing the relative position between the lenses and sub-pixels. The main controller corrects image data based on the offset data received from the display module.

  • The display device features an optical member with three-dimensional lenses.
  • A display module with a display panel and storage device for offset data is included.
  • The main controller corrects image data based on the offset data received from the display module.
  • The technology aims to improve image quality and accuracy on display screens.
  • This innovation enhances the viewing experience by optimizing the alignment of lenses and sub-pixels.

Potential Applications: - High-resolution displays - Virtual reality systems - Medical imaging devices

Problems Solved: - Correcting image distortion - Enhancing image clarity and sharpness

Benefits: - Improved image quality - Enhanced viewing experience - Accurate alignment of lenses and sub-pixels

Commercial Applications: Title: Advanced Display Technology for Enhanced Image Quality This technology can be utilized in high-end displays for gaming, medical imaging, and virtual reality applications. It can also be integrated into smartphones, tablets, and other consumer electronics for improved visual performance.

Questions about Display Device Technology: 1. How does the offset data stored in the display module improve image quality? The offset data helps correct any misalignment between the three-dimensional lenses and sub-pixels, resulting in sharper and more accurate images. 2. What are the potential market implications of this display technology? The technology can lead to the development of high-quality displays for various industries, including entertainment, healthcare, and education.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device includes an optical member including a plurality of three-dimensional lenses, a display module coupled to the optical member, and a main controller. The display module includes a display panel including a plurality of sub-pixels and a storage device configured to store offset data representing a relative arrangement position between the three-dimensional lenses and the sub-pixels. The main controller is configured to receive the offset data from the display module by accessing the display module in a power-on mode, and correct image data to be provided to the display module, based on the offset data.
