TRANSMISSION OF HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST FEEDBACK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18623139 titled 'TRANSMISSION OF HYBRID AUTOMATIC REPEAT REQUEST FEEDBACK

The patent application describes an apparatus that receives transmissions via sidelink unlicensed band from user equipment, determines decoding results, interprets an absence of HARQ feedback based on rules, and decides whether to send HARQ feedback based on decoding and interpretation results.

  • Apparatus receives transmissions via sidelink unlicensed band
  • Determines decoding results for the received transmissions
  • Interprets absence of HARQ feedback based on rules
  • Decides whether to send HARQ feedback based on decoding and interpretation results

Potential Applications: - Wireless communication systems - Internet of Things (IoT) devices - Mobile networks

Problems Solved: - Efficient handling of HARQ feedback in wireless communication - Improved reliability of data transmissions - Enhanced performance of user equipment

Benefits: - Increased data transmission reliability - Optimal use of wireless resources - Enhanced user experience in communication networks

Commercial Applications: Title: "Enhanced Wireless Communication Apparatus for Improved Data Transmission" This technology can be used in various industries such as telecommunications, IoT, and mobile networks to improve data transmission reliability and performance. It can benefit companies looking to enhance their wireless communication systems and provide better services to their customers.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does this technology improve data transmission reliability in wireless communication systems? 2. What are the key factors considered in determining whether to send HARQ feedback for a transmission?

Original Abstract Submitted

An apparatus including at least one processor; and at least one memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to perform: receiving a transmission via sidelink unlicensed band from a user equipment; determining a decoding result for the transmission; determining, based on at least one interpretation rule, an interpretation result of an absence of hybrid automatic repeat request, HARQ, feedback for the transmission; and determining, based on the decoding result and the interpretation result, whether to send the HARQ feedback for the transmission.
