SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIGNAL/CHANNEL DROPPING DURING HANDOVER FOR USER EQUIPMENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240349279 titled 'SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SIGNAL/CHANNEL DROPPING DURING HANDOVER FOR USER EQUIPMENT

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a method and user equipment for managing transmissions on different cells in a wireless network to avoid collisions.

  • Receiving scheduling information for a transmission on a target cell that conflicts with a scheduled transmission on a source cell.
  • Determining the time duration between the ending symbol of a PDCCH scheduling the transmission on the target cell and the first symbol of the transmission on the source cell.
  • Calculating a time value based on PUSCH preparation time and SCS configuration.
  • Comparing the time duration with the time value to decide whether to proceed with the transmission on the target cell and cancel the transmission on the source cell.

Key Features and Innovation

  • Efficient management of conflicting transmissions on different cells in a wireless network.
  • Optimization of transmission timing to prevent collisions and improve network performance.
  • Dynamic decision-making based on time duration and time value calculations.
  • Enhances overall network capacity and reliability.

Original Abstract Submitted

a method and user equipment are provided. the method includes receiving a scheduling of a transmission on a target cell that collides with a scheduled transmission on a source cell; determining a time duration from an ending symbol of a physical downlink control channel (pdcch) scheduling the transmission on the target cell to a first symbol of the transmission on the source cell; determining a time value based on a physical uplink shared channel (pusch) preparation time and a subcarrier spacing (scs) configuration; and determining that the time duration is greater than the time value and, in response, performing the transmission on the target cell and cancelling the transmission on the source cell.
