BATTERY PACK - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240332695 titled 'BATTERY PACK

The patent application describes a battery pack that can accommodate multiple battery modules. The pack consists of a lower case covering the lower portions of the battery modules and an upper cover for the upper portions.

  • The lower case includes a bottom plate, front wall, rear wall, left wall, and right wall.
  • The battery modules are placed in a specific portion of the case.
  • A cross member and cover frame are included in the lower case for structural support.
  • The cross member is made of a solid metal structure and extends in the left-right direction.
  • The cover frame is made of a metal plate and is fixed to the cross member.

Potential Applications: - Electric vehicles - Energy storage systems - Portable electronic devices

Problems Solved: - Efficient organization and protection of battery modules - Structural support for the battery pack

Benefits: - Improved battery pack durability - Enhanced safety for battery modules - Easy maintenance and replacement of modules

Commercial Applications: The technology can be used in electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and various portable electronic devices, enhancing their performance and longevity.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the cross member contribute to the structural integrity of the battery pack? 2. What materials are commonly used for battery module construction in such packs?
