a foldable device and method for executing an application are provided. the foldable device includes a motion sensor, memory storing one or more computer programs, and one or more processors communicatively coupled to the motion sensor and the memory, wherein the one or more computer programs include computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the foldable device to receive, via the motion sensor, a user input for unfolding the foldable device, in response to receiving the user input for unfolding the foldable device, identify, based on sensor values from the motion sensor of the foldable device, a user who has unfolded the foldable device from among at least one user registered with the foldable device, and provide an application for the foldable device based on the identified user.
