An electrochemical device, including a positive electrode, wherein the positive electrode includes a positive active material layer, which includes a positive active material, the positive active material includes a first substrate and a first region disposed on a surface of the first substrate, and based on a molar content of a Co element in the first region, a molar percentage X of an M1 element in the first region is ≥0.5%, wherein M1 includes at least one of aluminum, magnesium, titanium, zirconium, manganese, lutetium, barium, nickel, lanthanum, yttrium, niobium, tungsten, calcium, sodium, selenium, or sulfur; and a negative electrode, wherein the negative electrode includes a negative active material layer; and 1.3≤P/P≤ 3.5, wherein Pis a porosity of the negative active material layer, and Pis a porosity of the positive active material layer.
