AUTOMATIC CIRCUIT CONFIGURATION DETECTION IN LEGACY TELEPHONE NETWORKS - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18429856 titled 'AUTOMATIC CIRCUIT CONFIGURATION DETECTION IN LEGACY TELEPHONE NETWORKS
The abstract of this patent application describes a method for a processing system to determine combinations of settings for a session border controller (SBC) communicating with a network, enabling connections between the SBC and different networks, and subsequently disabling certain connections without changing the settings of the primary rate interface (PRI) equipment.
- The method involves determining settings for an SBC communicating with a network and a PRI circuit.
- It includes enabling connections between the SBC and the PRI circuit, as well as between the SBC and another network.
- The identified settings of the SBC correspond to the combination that coincides with the PRI circuit settings.
- Subsequently, the method involves disabling the connection between the SBC and the second network, allowing the PRI equipment to communicate with the first network without changing its settings.
Potential Applications: - Telecommunications networks - Network security systems - VoIP services
Problems Solved: - Efficient management of network connections - Seamless communication between different networks - Minimizing disruptions in network configurations
Benefits: - Streamlined network operations - Enhanced security measures - Improved network reliability
Commercial Applications: Title: "Optimized Network Connection Management System" This technology can be utilized by telecommunications companies, network security firms, and VoIP service providers to enhance their network management capabilities, improve security protocols, and ensure uninterrupted communication between networks.
Prior Art: Researchers can explore prior patents related to session border controllers, network connection management systems, and PRI equipment configurations to gain a deeper understanding of the existing technology landscape in this field.
Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in network connection management systems, session border controllers, and network security protocols to leverage the latest innovations in this technology sector.
Questions about the technology: 1. How does this method improve the efficiency of network connection management? 2. What are the potential implications of disabling certain network connections while maintaining PRI equipment settings?
Original Abstract Submitted
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a processing system determines a plurality of combinations of settings for a session border controller (SBC) communicating with a first network and installed at a premises. The method also includes listing the combinations, and identifying a combination that coincides with settings of a primary rate interface (PRI) circuit. The method further includes enabling a first connection between a first port of the SBC and the PRI circuit and a second connection between a second port of the SBC and a second network; settings of the SBC correspond to the identified combination, and the SBC comprises a connection between the first and second ports. The method also includes subsequently disabling the second connection, resulting in the PRI equipment communicating with the first network without a change to the settings of the PRI equipment. Other embodiments are disclosed.
