INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18598895 titled 'INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

The abstract of this patent application describes an information processing apparatus that compares the position of an object obtained from a range sensor with a position calculated through simulation to determine accuracy.

  • The apparatus obtains first information indicating the position of an object based on a range sensor detection and second information indicating the position calculated through simulation.
  • A comparator is used to determine the accuracy of the first position by comparing it with the second position calculated through simulation.

Potential Applications: - Autonomous vehicles for accurate object positioning. - Robotics for precise object manipulation. - Augmented reality for realistic object placement.

Problems Solved: - Ensures the accuracy of object positioning data. - Validates the effectiveness of simulation-based calculations.

Benefits: - Improved reliability in object positioning. - Enhanced performance of autonomous systems. - Increased efficiency in object manipulation tasks.

Commercial Applications: Title: Precision Positioning Technology for Autonomous Systems This technology can be utilized in industries such as autonomous vehicles, robotics, and augmented reality for enhanced accuracy and efficiency in object positioning tasks. The market implications include improved safety, productivity, and user experience in various applications.

Questions about Precision Positioning Technology: 1. How does this technology impact the accuracy of object positioning in autonomous systems? - This technology significantly improves the accuracy of object positioning by comparing real-time sensor data with simulation-based calculations. 2. Original Abstract Submitted

An information processing apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes: an obtainer that obtains first information indicating a first position of an object, which has been calculated based on a detection result of a range sensor according to a first calculation method, and second information indicating a second position of the object, which has been calculated through simulation according to a second calculation method different from the first calculation method; and a comparator that determines whether the first position is correct by comparing the first information with the second information.
