TERMINAL UNIT, FEMALE TERMINAL AND MALE TERMINAL - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18277891 titled 'TERMINAL UNIT, FEMALE TERMINAL AND MALE TERMINAL
The abstract describes a terminal unit where a female terminal includes two wall portions facing each other across a male terminal insertion gap. The male terminal has inclined portions on both sides, and the first wall portion has a resilient contact portion that biases the male terminal towards the second wall portion.
- Female terminal with first and second wall portions facing each other
- Male terminal with inclined portions on both sides
- Resilient contact portion on the first wall portion biases the male terminal towards the second wall portion
Potential Applications: - Electrical connectors - Automotive wiring systems - Electronic devices
Problems Solved: - Secure connection between male and female terminals - Ensures proper alignment during insertion
Benefits: - Reliable electrical connections - Easy installation process - Durable design
Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Terminal Unit for Enhanced Electrical Connections This technology can be used in various industries such as automotive, electronics, and telecommunications for improved terminal connections, leading to enhanced product performance and reliability.
Questions about Terminal Units: 1. How does the resilient contact portion improve the connection between male and female terminals? The resilient contact portion on the female terminal ensures a secure and reliable electrical connection by biasing the male terminal towards the second wall portion, maintaining proper alignment during insertion.
2. What are the potential applications of this terminal unit technology? This terminal unit technology can be applied in various industries such as automotive, electronics, and telecommunications for improved terminal connections, leading to enhanced product performance and reliability.
Original Abstract Submitted
In a terminal unit a female terminal includes a first wall portion and a second wall portion arranged to face each other across a male terminal insertion gap, into which a male terminal is inserted and arranged. The male terminal includes a pair of inclined portions, inclined toward one side in a plate thickness direction of the male terminal on both sides in a plate width direction. The first wall portion includes a resilient contact portion facing a surface of the male terminal on the one side in the plate thickness direction and projecting toward the second wall portion. The resilient contact portion is resiliently deformable in a direction separating from the second wall portion to bias the male terminal toward the second wall portion.
