Slice Group Information - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18672440 titled 'Slice Group Information

Simplified Explanation:

The abstract describes a system where a distributed unit of a base station sends slice information to a central unit. The slice information includes a network slice group identifier and parameters indicating the presence of one or more network slices. The distributed unit then receives radio resource control information for a wireless device from the central unit, which includes the network slice group identifier.

  • The system involves a distributed unit of a base station sending slice information to a central unit.
  • The slice information includes a network slice group identifier and parameters indicating the presence of one or more network slices.
  • The distributed unit receives radio resource control information for a wireless device from the central unit, which includes the network slice group identifier.

Potential Applications: - This technology can be applied in telecommunications for efficient management of network slices. - It can be used in 5G networks to optimize resource allocation and enhance network performance.

Problems Solved: - Efficient management of network slices within a base station. - Streamlining radio resource control information for wireless devices.

Benefits: - Improved network performance and resource allocation. - Enhanced scalability and flexibility in managing network slices.

Commercial Applications: Title: Enhanced Network Slice Management System for Telecom Operators This technology can be commercially utilized by telecom operators to optimize network resources, improve service quality, and enhance overall network performance in 5G and beyond networks.

Prior Art: Readers can explore existing patents related to network slice management, radio resource control, and base station optimization to understand the background of this technology.

Frequently Updated Research: Researchers are continuously exploring ways to enhance network slice management, radio resource control protocols, and base station efficiency to keep up with the evolving demands of wireless communication networks.

Questions about Network Slice Management: 1. How does this technology improve resource allocation in network slices? 2. What are the key advantages of using network slice group identifiers in radio resource control messages?

Original Abstract Submitted

A distributed unit of a base station sends slice information to a central unit of the base station. The slice information comprises a network slice group identifier of a network slice group and at least one parameter. The at least one parameter indicates that the network slice group comprises one or more network slices. The at least one parameter comprises one or more network slice identifiers indicating the one or more network slices. The distributed unit of the base station receives, from the central unit of the base station, a radio resource control (RRC) information message for a wireless device. The RRC information message comprises the network slice group identifier.
