HOUSING BOX - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18592433 titled 'HOUSING BOX

The abstract of a patent application describes a housing box with a main body portion, an upper cover, and a packing member. The main body portion has an inner wall and an outer wall that form a drain passage to drain water entering between them. The inner wall abuts on the packing member when the upper cover is attached to block water ingress.

  • The housing box includes a main body portion, an upper cover, and a packing member.
  • The main body portion has an inner wall and an outer wall that form a drain passage to drain water.
  • The inner wall abuts on the packing member to block water ingress when the upper cover is attached.
  • This design prevents water from entering between the main body portion and the upper cover.
  • The housing box provides improved water resistance and protection for its contents.

Potential Applications: - Outdoor storage containers - Shipping containers - Waterproof packaging for electronics

Problems Solved: - Water ingress between the main body portion and the upper cover - Damage to contents due to water exposure

Benefits: - Enhanced water resistance - Improved protection for stored items - Increased durability of the housing box

Commercial Applications: Title: Waterproof Housing Boxes for Outdoor Use This technology can be used in outdoor storage solutions, shipping containers, and packaging for electronics to provide superior water resistance and protection.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the design of the housing box prevent water ingress? - The housing box has an inner wall and an outer wall that form a drain passage to drain water and a packing member to block water ingress. 2. What are the potential applications of this waterproof housing box technology? - The technology can be used in outdoor storage containers, shipping containers, and packaging for electronics to provide enhanced water resistance and protection.

Original Abstract Submitted

A housing box includes: a main body portion; an upper cover; and a packing member, in which the main body portion has an inner wall and an outer wall formed in an attachment direction of the upper cover at an end portion to which the upper cover is attached, and has a drain passage that is formed between the inner wall and the outer wall and drains water entering between the inner wall and the outer wall to the outside, and an end portion of the inner wall abuts on the packing member in a state where the upper cover is attached to the main body portion to block water ingress between the main body portion and the upper cover.
