SYSTEM FOR OUTPUTTING AUDIO FOR A USER, AND A METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240323627 titled 'SYSTEM FOR OUTPUTTING AUDIO FOR A USER, AND A METHOD THEREOF

The patent application describes a system for outputting audio for a user using multiple audio channels and transducers within wearable audio output devices.

  • The system generates multiple audio channels based on an audio file.
  • Three or more transducers are included in the audio output devices worn by the user.
  • The transducers consist of at least one earphone/headphone and at least one bone conduction headphone.
  • Each earphone/headphone emits sound signals based on a subset of the audio channels.
  • Each bone conduction headphone vibrates in response to another subset of the audio channels.

Potential Applications: - Personal audio devices for immersive audio experiences. - Assistive listening devices for individuals with hearing impairments. - Virtual reality and augmented reality headsets for spatial audio.

Problems Solved: - Providing a more immersive audio experience for users. - Catering to different audio preferences and needs of individuals. - Enhancing the functionality of wearable audio devices.

Benefits: - Enhanced audio quality and spatial awareness. - Customizable audio output based on user preferences. - Improved accessibility for individuals with hearing impairments.

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Audio Output System for Wearable Devices This technology can be used in the development of high-end audio products for consumers looking for premium audio experiences. It can also be integrated into virtual reality and augmented reality headsets to enhance the immersive audio experience for users.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the bone conduction headphone technology work in this system? 2. What are the potential advantages of using multiple audio channels in wearable audio devices?

Original Abstract Submitted

a system for outputting audio for a user, comprising processing circuitry configured to generate, based at least in part on an audio file, a plurality of audio channels, and three or more transducers comprised within one or more audio output apparatuses wearable by the user, wherein the three or more transducers comprise at least one earphone/headphone and at least one bone conduction headphone, wherein each earphone/headphone is operable to emit one or more sound signals in dependence upon a first subset of the audio channels, and wherein each bone conduction headphone is operable to vibrate responsive to a second subset of the audio channels.
