ADJUSTING POSE OF VIDEO OBJECT IN 3D VIDEO STREAM FROM USER DEVICE BASED ON AUGMENTED REALITY CONTEXT INFORMATION FROM AUGMENTED REALITY DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240320931 titled 'ADJUSTING POSE OF VIDEO OBJECT IN 3D VIDEO STREAM FROM USER DEVICE BASED ON AUGMENTED REALITY CONTEXT INFORMATION FROM AUGMENTED REALITY DISPLAY DEVICE

The patent application describes an augmented reality system that receives a 3D video stream from a user device during a conference session. The system identifies and adjusts the pose of a video object captured in the stream based on AR context information, and then displays the video object on a see-through display.

  • The system includes a network interface, processor, and memory for executing operations.
  • It receives a 3D video stream from a user device during a conference session.
  • The system identifies and adjusts the pose of a video object captured in the stream based on AR context information.
  • The adjusted video object is displayed on a see-through display for viewing.

Potential Applications: - Augmented reality conferencing - Interactive presentations - Virtual product demonstrations

Problems Solved: - Enhancing user experience during conference sessions - Improving visualization of 3D video objects

Benefits: - Enhanced communication and collaboration - Engaging and interactive presentations - Improved understanding of complex concepts

Commercial Applications: Title: Augmented Reality Conference System This technology can be used in various industries for virtual meetings, product demonstrations, and interactive presentations. It has implications for improving communication and collaboration in business settings.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the system adjust the pose of the video object based on AR context information? 2. What are the potential challenges of implementing this technology in real-world conference settings?

Original Abstract Submitted

an augmented reality. ar, computing server () includes a network interface (), a processor (), and a memory () storing instructions executable by the processor to perform operations. the network interface is configured to receive through a network a three-dimensional (3d) video stream from a user device during a conference session. the operations identify a video object captured in the 3d video stream, and determine a pose of the video object captured in the 3d video stream. the operations obtain ar context information from an ar display device indicating how the video object is to be posed relative to a physical object viewable through a see-through display of the ar display device, and adjust pose of the video object captured in the 3d video stream based on the ar context information. the operations output the video object to the see-through display for display. related methods and computer program products are disclosed.
