disclosed herein is a method for udc based communication in a wireless communication system. the method includes detecting a handover event or a re-establishment event for a udc bearer, between a ue and a network. the method further includes performing a first determining operation for determining whether a pdcp status report is received by the ue from the network. thereafter, the method includes transmitting uncompressed data packets until the pdcp status report is received by the ue. the method further includes performing a second determining operation for determining whether a pdcp timer associated with a reordering window of the pdcp layer is running or stopped. the method further includes transmitting compressed data packets based on a result of the first or second determination operation.
