BATTERY MODULE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18591566 titled 'BATTERY MODULE

Simplified Explanation: The battery module described in the patent application includes a battery with multiple electrode layers, elastic members on both surfaces, plate members to sandwich the battery and elastic members, and a restraining member to apply pressure in orthogonal directions.

  • The battery module consists of a battery with electrode layers.
  • Elastic members are placed on both surfaces of the battery.
  • Plate members sandwich the battery and elastic members.
  • A restraining member applies pressure to the battery, elastic members, and plate members.
  • The restraining member is arranged in a direction orthogonal to the first direction.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Battery module design with uniform restraining pressure.
  • Use of elastic members and plate members for pressure distribution.
  • Restraining member for applying pressure in orthogonal directions.

Potential Applications: The battery module design can be used in various electronic devices requiring stable and uniform pressure distribution on batteries.

Problems Solved: The battery module addresses the issue of uneven pressure distribution on batteries, ensuring their longevity and performance.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced battery performance and longevity.
  • Improved safety due to uniform pressure distribution.
  • Increased efficiency in electronic devices.

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include use in smartphones, laptops, electric vehicles, and other electronic devices requiring reliable battery performance.

Questions about Battery Module: 1. How does the design of the battery module ensure uniform pressure distribution? 2. What are the potential implications of using this battery module in electric vehicles?

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in battery technology and pressure distribution methods for electronic devices to enhance the performance of the battery module.

Original Abstract Submitted

A main object of the present disclosure is to provide a battery module of which uniformity of restraining pressure applied to the battery is high. The present disclosure achieves the object by providing a battery module including: a battery including a plurality of electrode layered in a first direction; a pair of elastic member arranged on both surfaces of the battery; a pair of plate member arranged to sandwich the battery and the pair of elastic member in the first direction; a restraining member that applies a restraining pressure to the battery, the pair of elastic member and the pair of plate member in the first direction, and is arranged to face to each other in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; wherein a specified plate member is included.
