UNEVEN ROLLER, MEDIUM TRANSPORTATION DEVICE, RECORDING APPARATUS, POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS, RELAY APPARATUS, UNEVEN RING, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF UNEVEN ROLLER - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18605579 titled 'UNEVEN ROLLER, MEDIUM TRANSPORTATION DEVICE, RECORDING APPARATUS, POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS, RELAY APPARATUS, UNEVEN RING, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF UNEVEN ROLLER

The abstract describes an uneven roller with a surface that has protrusions and recesses, mounted on a shaft portion with a reference portion, a ring portion, and a restriction portion.

  • The uneven roller has a ring portion composed of multiple uneven rings with protrusion portions along the circumferential direction.
  • The ring portion is mounted on the shaft portion closer to one side than the reference portion, with a restriction portion to limit movement in that direction.

Potential Applications:

  • This technology could be used in conveyor systems, printing presses, or any machinery requiring precise movement and control.

Problems Solved:

  • Provides enhanced grip and control over the medium being processed.
  • Prevents slippage and ensures consistent performance.

Benefits:

  • Improved efficiency and accuracy in material handling processes.
  • Reduced maintenance and downtime due to enhanced stability.

Commercial Applications:

  • This technology could be valuable in industries such as manufacturing, packaging, and logistics for improved productivity and quality control.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the design of the uneven roller improve performance compared to traditional rollers? 2. What materials are typically used in the construction of these uneven rollers?

Frequently Updated Research:

  • Stay updated on advancements in roller technology and material science for potential improvements in performance and durability.

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided is an uneven roller of which a surface coming into contact with a medium is provided with a plurality of protrusions and recesses, the uneven roller including a shaft portion, a reference portion mounted on the shaft portion, a ring portion that is positioned closer to a side, to which a first direction along an axial direction of the shaft portion extends, than the reference portion is and that is mounted on the shaft portion, and a restriction portion that is positioned closer to the side, to which the first direction extends, than the ring portion is and that is mounted on the shaft portion to restrict movement of the ring portion in the first direction. The ring portion is composed of a plurality of uneven rings disposed along the axial direction, the uneven ring including a plurality of protrusion portions disposed along a circumferential direction.
