MAINTENANCE UNIT AND LIQUID EJECTION DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18603305 titled 'MAINTENANCE UNIT AND LIQUID EJECTION DEVICE

Simplified Explanation:

The patent application describes a maintenance unit designed to handle waste liquid discharged from an ejection section that ejects liquid onto a medium. The liquid undergoes a hardening process, and the maintenance unit includes components to absorb and transport the liquid.

  • The maintenance unit includes a belt-shaped absorbing member to absorb and receive the waste liquid.
  • A rotor is used to transport the absorbing member in a feeding direction.
  • A guide roller is provided downstream of the receiving region to guide the absorbing member.
  • A first regulating section is located on the ejection section side of the absorbing member to control the liquid flow.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Absorbing member for liquid waste management.
  • Rotor for transporting the absorbing member.
  • Guide roller for directing the absorbing member.
  • First regulating section for controlling liquid flow.
