Example handover methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes receiving, by a candidate network device, first indication information from a source network device, where the first indication information indicates a first handover type. The first handover type includes a conditional handover (CHO) that is based on a beam-level measurement result. The candidate network device determines, by using the first indication information, a first handover configuration corresponding to the first handover type, and sends the corresponding first handover configuration to the source network device.
