VEHICLE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240308393 titled 'VEHICLE

The patent application describes a vehicle with a unique design that includes a floor panel, a seat rail, a movable member, a seat, a battery pack, an intake duct, and a wheel house.

  • The seat rail is separated upward from the floor panel, allowing for a specific configuration of components.
  • The intake duct supplies air from an intake port to the battery pack, enhancing the vehicle's functionality.
  • The intake port is positioned between the floor panel and the seat rail in an upper-lower direction, optimizing airflow.
  • The wheel house features a side wall and a fender, with the intake port positioned in front of the side wall.
  • The design of the vehicle allows for efficient air intake and battery pack placement, improving overall performance.

Potential Applications: - Electric vehicles - Hybrid vehicles - Automotive engineering and design

Problems Solved: - Efficient air intake for battery packs - Optimal placement of components in a vehicle

Benefits: - Improved performance and efficiency - Enhanced airflow for battery packs - Innovative design for vehicles

Commercial Applications: Title: Innovative Vehicle Design for Enhanced Performance This technology could be utilized in the production of electric and hybrid vehicles, appealing to environmentally conscious consumers. The unique design features could set a new standard in automotive engineering.

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the placement of the intake port improve the vehicle's performance? 2. What advantages does the separation of the seat rail from the floor panel offer in terms of design and functionality?

Original Abstract Submitted

a vehicle includes: a floor panel; a seat rail extending in a front-rear direction; a movable member engaged with the seat rail in a manner slidable in the front-rear direction; a seat supported by the movable member; a battery pack disposed behind the seat; an intake duct having an intake port and configured to supply air taken in from the intake port to the battery pack; and a wheel house, wherein the seat rail is separated upward from the floor panel, the intake port is at least partially positioned between the floor panel and the seat rail in an upper-lower direction, the wheel house includes a side wall extending in the front-rear direction and a fender extending outward in the vehicle width direction, and the intake port is at least partially positioned in front of a front end of the side wall of the wheel house.
