DATA TRANSMITTER AND METHOD FOR DATA TRANSMISSION - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 20240300508 titled 'DATA TRANSMITTER AND METHOD FOR DATA TRANSMISSION

Simplified Explanation:

This patent application describes a data transmitter that detects the driver's state using a camera mounted on a vehicle. The transmitter determines if the driver's state is suitable for autonomous driving and transmits the driver's face image to a terminal in different modes based on the state.

  • The data transmitter detects the driver's state using output data from a camera on the vehicle.
  • It determines if the driver's state is suitable for autonomous driving.
  • The transmitter transmits the driver's face image to a terminal in a first mode if the state is suitable for continuing control.
  • If the state is unsuitable, the face image is transmitted in a second mode that draws more attention from the user of the terminal.

Potential Applications: - Automotive safety systems - Driver monitoring technology - Autonomous vehicle control

Problems Solved: - Ensuring driver safety during autonomous driving - Providing real-time feedback on driver's state - Enhancing user attention to critical alerts

Benefits: - Improved driver safety - Enhanced monitoring capabilities - Customized alerts for driver attention

Commercial Applications: Title: Driver Monitoring System for Enhanced Safety in Autonomous Vehicles This technology can be used in: - Automotive industry for integrating driver monitoring systems in autonomous vehicles - Fleet management companies for ensuring driver safety and compliance - Insurance companies for incentivizing safe driving practices

Prior Art: Readers can explore prior art related to driver monitoring systems, facial recognition technology, and autonomous vehicle safety systems.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on research related to driver monitoring systems, facial recognition technology advancements, and autonomous vehicle safety innovations.

Questions about Driver Monitoring Systems: 1. How does this technology improve driver safety in autonomous vehicles? 2. What are the potential privacy concerns associated with transmitting driver's face images to terminals?

Original Abstract Submitted

a data transmitter to be mounted on a vehicle detects the driver's state from output data of a camera mounted on the vehicle. the data transmitter determines whether the driver's state is suitable for continuing the control by the level of autonomous driving; transmits, when it is determined that the state is suitable for continuing the control, the face image to a terminal communicably connected via a communication network, together with a first setting for displaying the face image on the terminal in first mode; and transmits, when it is determined that the state is unsuitable for continuing the control, the face image to the terminal, together with a second setting for displaying the face image on the terminal in second mode that draws more attention of a user of the terminal than the first mode.
