DISPLAY DEVICE - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17977983 titled 'DISPLAY DEVICE

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a display device that includes various transistors and elements to control the display.

  • The display device includes a light emitting element, driving transistors, switching transistors, compensation transistors, and initialization transistors.
  • The driving transistors control the flow of current to the light emitting element.
  • The switching transistor connects the data line to the first node, allowing data to be transmitted to the driving transistors.
  • The compensation transistors receive compensation scan signals to adjust the performance of the driving transistors.
  • The initialization transistors connect the control electrodes of the driving transistors to initialization voltage lines.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • This display device can be used in various electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, televisions, and computer monitors.
  • It can provide high-quality and efficient display performance.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • The display device addresses the need for precise control of the light emitting element to ensure accurate and clear display.
  • The compensation transistors help in compensating for any variations or discrepancies in the performance of the driving transistors.

Benefits of this technology:

  • The display device offers improved display quality with accurate and consistent brightness levels.
  • It provides efficient power consumption by optimizing the performance of the driving transistors.
  • The use of compensation transistors helps in reducing any potential display distortions or artifacts.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display device includes: a light emitting element; a first driving transistor between a first node and the light emitting element; a second driving transistor between the first node and the light emitting element; a switching transistor between a data line and the first node; a first compensation transistor between a first control electrode of the first driving transistor and a second node, and configured to receive a first compensation scan signal; a second compensation transistor between a second control electrode of the second driving transistor and the second node, and configured to receive a second compensation scan signal; a first initialization transistor between the first control electrode of the first driving transistor and a first initialization voltage line; and a second initialization transistor between the second control electrode of the second driving transistor and a second initialization voltage line.
