DISPLAY APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 17901288 titled 'DISPLAY APPARATUS AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

Simplified Explanation

The patent application describes a display apparatus that includes a display, a user interface, a memory, a plurality of LEDs, and a processor.

  • The display apparatus has a display, user interface, memory, LEDs, and a processor.
  • The memory stores information about different areas of interest for each game type.
  • The LEDs are located on one area of the display and can emit light in different colors.
  • The processor uses the information in the memory to identify the area of interest corresponding to the selected game type.
  • The processor controls the light-emitting state of the LEDs based on the RGB grayscale data of a pixel corresponding to the identified area of interest in the game image displayed on the display.

Potential applications of this technology:

  • Gaming consoles or devices that provide a more immersive gaming experience by dynamically changing the lighting based on the game being played.
  • Virtual reality headsets or augmented reality glasses that enhance the visual experience by using the LEDs to highlight important areas or objects in the virtual environment.
  • Display systems in museums or exhibitions that use the LEDs to draw attention to specific exhibits or information.

Problems solved by this technology:

  • Enhances the gaming experience by providing visual cues or highlighting important areas in the game.
  • Improves the visual experience in virtual reality or augmented reality by directing the user's attention to specific objects or areas.
  • Increases engagement and interaction in museum or exhibition displays by drawing attention to specific exhibits or information.

Benefits of this technology:

  • Provides a more immersive and interactive gaming experience.
  • Enhances the visual experience in virtual reality or augmented reality.
  • Increases engagement and interest in museum or exhibition displays.

Original Abstract Submitted

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus includes a display, a user interface, a memory configured to store information regarding an area of interest for each game type, a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) provided on one area of the display and configured to emit light in various colors, and a processor configured to, based on information related to a game type being selected through the user interface, identify an area of interest corresponding to the selected game type based on the information stored in the memory and control a light-emitting state of the plurality of LEDs based on red, green, and blue (RGB) grayscale data of a pixel corresponding to the identified area of interest in a game image provided through the display.
