OPTIMAL FAULT MANAGEMENT REPORTING VIA NF LEVEL NORTHBOUND FAULT REPORTING AGENT - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18018055 titled 'OPTIMAL FAULT MANAGEMENT REPORTING VIA NF LEVEL NORTHBOUND FAULT REPORTING AGENT

Simplified Explanation: The patent application describes a method, computer readable medium, and system for reporting data to a Northbound Management System (NBMS) via a Network Function (NF) level Northbound Fault reporting Microservice (MS) in a Radio Access Network (RAN).

  • Receiving events data from other NF Microservices by a Fault Management (FM) MS.
  • Processing the events data by the FM MS.
  • Obtaining the processed data by the Fault reporting MS.
  • Reporting the processed data from the Fault reporting MS to the NBMS.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Integration of a Northbound Fault reporting Microservice in a Radio Access Network.
  • Efficient processing and reporting of events data to a Northbound Management System.
  • Streamlined communication between various Microservices within the Network Function.

Potential Applications: This technology can be applied in telecommunications networks, specifically in Radio Access Networks, to enhance fault reporting and management processes.

Problems Solved:

  • Improved fault reporting efficiency.
  • Enhanced communication between different Microservices.
  • Streamlined data processing for better network management.

Benefits:

  • Faster identification and resolution of network faults.
  • Enhanced overall network performance.
  • Improved management of network events and data.

Commercial Applications: Potential commercial applications include telecommunications companies, network infrastructure providers, and technology firms looking to optimize fault reporting and management in Radio Access Networks.

Prior Art: Prior art related to this technology may include research on fault reporting systems in telecommunications networks and network function virtualization.

Frequently Updated Research: Stay updated on advancements in fault reporting systems in telecommunications networks, network function virtualization, and Radio Access Network management.

Questions about Northbound Fault Reporting Microservices: 1. How does the integration of a Northbound Fault reporting Microservice improve network management efficiency? 2. What are the key differences between traditional fault reporting systems and the proposed Northbound Fault reporting Microservice in a Radio Access Network?

Original Abstract Submitted

Provided are a method, computer readable medium, and system for reporting data to a Northbound Management System (NBMS) via a Network Function (NF) level Northbound Fault reporting Microservice (MS) in an NF of a Radio Access Network (RAN). The method includes: receiving, by a Fault Management (FM) MS from at least one other MS of the NF, events data; processing, by the FM MS, the events data; obtaining, by the Fault reporting MS, the processed data; and reporting, from the Fault reporting MS to the NBMS, the processed data.
