ROBOT, ROBOT CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18538106 titled 'ROBOT, ROBOT CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
The abstract of the patent application describes a robot that can update an emotion parameter based on external stimuli and execute corresponding actions. The robot utilizes a positioning map with coordinate axes to express pseudo-emotions.
- Processor updates emotion parameter based on external stimulus
- Executes action control based on updated emotion parameter
- Memory stores first and second tables for evaluation and correction values
- Acquires evaluation value and correction value to update emotion parameter on positioning map
Potential Applications: - Emotional support robots - Therapy robots - Educational robots for social interaction
Problems Solved: - Enhancing emotional intelligence in robots - Improving human-robot interaction - Providing personalized responses based on stimuli
Benefits: - Enhanced robot empathy - Tailored responses to external stimuli - Improved user experience with robots
Commercial Applications: Title: Emotional Support Robot Technology for Enhanced Human-Robot Interaction Description: This technology can be used in various industries such as healthcare, education, and customer service to create more empathetic and responsive robots for better user engagement.
Questions about Emotional Support Robot Technology:

Original Abstract Submitted
A robot includes at least one processor configured to update, in accordance with a type of an acquired external stimulus, an emotion parameter expressed by a position on a positioning map having at least two coordinate axes and expressing a pseudo-emotion, and execute action control corresponding to the updated emotion parameter, and a memory configured to store a first table and a second table. In a case of updating the emotion parameter, the at least one processor acquires, from the first table, the evaluation value corresponding to the type of acquired external stimulus and acquires, from the second table, the correction value corresponding to a current position of the emotion parameter on the positioning map, and move, based on the acquired evaluation value and the acquired correction value, a position of the emotion parameter on the positioning map.
