METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CHARACTERIZING TISSUE OF A SUBJECT - A simplified explanation of the abstract
This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18361802 titled 'METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CHARACTERIZING TISSUE OF A SUBJECT
The patent application describes methods and systems for characterizing tissue of a subject using fluorescence images.
- The method involves receiving a time series of fluorescence images defining calculation regions, generating time-intensity curves, creating parameter values for each region, comparing these values to generate a total rank value, and converting it into a ranking map image.
- Additionally, the patent discloses methods for characterizing wounds in tissue by generating a wound index value.
- The innovation allows for detailed analysis and characterization of tissue and wounds using fluorescence imaging techniques.
- By comparing parameter values and generating rank values, the system can provide a comprehensive assessment of tissue characteristics.
- The technology can be applied in medical diagnostics, wound care management, and research settings.
- The benefits include improved tissue analysis, enhanced wound assessment, and potential for early detection of abnormalities.
- Commercial applications may include medical imaging devices, software for tissue analysis, and wound care products.
Questions about Methods and Systems for Characterizing Tissue:
1. How does the system generate parameter values for calculation regions?
- The system generates parameter values by analyzing the time-intensity curves of fluorescence images.
2. What are the potential applications of the technology beyond tissue characterization?
- The technology could potentially be used in drug development, cancer research, and personalized medicine.
Original Abstract Submitted
Methods and systems for characterizing tissue of a subject are disclosed. The method includes receiving a time series of fluorescence images of the tissue of the subject wherein the images define a plurality of calculation regions, generating a plurality of time-intensity curves for the plurality of calculation regions, creating a set of parameter values for each calculation region, generating a total rank value for each calculation region by comparing the sets of parameter values, and converting the total rank value into a ranking map image. Also disclosed are methods and systems for characterizing a wound in tissue by generating a wound index value.
