Simplified Explanation:

The patent application describes a system for detecting broken or missing grain paddles in the elevator of a combine harvester. It uses a sensor to detect the presence of grain paddles and a controller to analyze the signals from the sensor to determine if any paddles are broken or missing.

  • The system includes a sensor to detect the presence of grain paddles in the elevator.
  • A controller processes the signals from the sensor to identify broken or missing paddles.
  • The system helps in quickly identifying and addressing issues with the grain paddles, ensuring efficient harvesting operations.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Sensor positioned to detect grain paddles in the elevator.
  • Controller analyzes sensor signals to identify broken or missing paddles.
  • Efficient detection of issues with grain paddles in combine harvesters.

Potential Applications:

The technology can be used in various types of combine harvesters to improve maintenance and efficiency in grain harvesting operations.

Problems Solved:

The system helps in quickly identifying broken or missing grain paddles in the elevator, allowing for timely repairs and minimizing downtime during harvesting.

Benefits:

  • Improved maintenance of combine harvesters.
  • Enhanced efficiency in grain harvesting operations.
  • Reduced downtime due to broken or missing grain paddles.

Commercial Applications:

Title: "Grain Paddle Detection System for Combine Harvesters"

This technology can be utilized by agricultural machinery manufacturers to enhance the performance and reliability of combine harvesters, leading to increased customer satisfaction and potentially higher sales in the agricultural equipment market.

Questions about Grain Paddle Detection System for Combine Harvesters:

1. What are the key components of the system for detecting broken or missing grain paddles in combine harvesters? 2. How does the sensor in the system detect the presence of grain paddles in the elevator?

Original Abstract Submitted

A system for detecting a broken or missing grain paddle of an elevator of a combine harvester includes a sensor positioned to either directly or indirectly detect a presence of grain paddles of the elevator, and output signals based thereon. The system also includes a controller that is configured to receive the signals output from the sensor and determine the occurrence of the broken or missing grain paddle as a function of the signals transmitted by the sensor.
