CAMERA MODULE AND CAMERA APPARATUS COMPRISING SAME - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18627126 titled 'CAMERA MODULE AND CAMERA APPARATUS COMPRISING SAME

The camera module described in the patent application includes two driving parts, one on the image sensor substrate and one on the housing, to facilitate movement of the image sensor substrate in different directions.

  • The first driving part on the image sensor substrate moves the substrate in a first direction with respect to the lens barrel.
  • The second driving part on the image sensor substrate moves the substrate in a second direction that intersects the first direction.
  • The second driving part on the housing includes two groups of driving parts, one overlapping the first group in a vertical direction and the other overlapping the second group in the vertical direction.

Key Features and Innovation:

  • Dual driving parts on the image sensor substrate and housing for precise movement control.
  • Ability to move the image sensor substrate in different directions for optimal image capturing.
  • Overlapping driving parts on the housing for efficient operation.

Potential Applications:

  • Mobile phone cameras
  • Surveillance cameras
  • Automotive cameras

Problems Solved:

  • Precise movement control of the image sensor substrate
  • Efficient operation of the camera module

Benefits:

  • Improved image quality
  • Enhanced functionality
  • Increased reliability

Commercial Applications:

  • Smartphone manufacturers
  • Security companies
  • Automotive industry

Questions about the technology: 1. How does the dual driving parts system improve the performance of the camera module? 2. What are the potential challenges in implementing this technology in different types of cameras?

Original Abstract Submitted

A camera module includes a first driving part on a lower surface of an image sensor substrate, and a second driving part on a lower surface of the housing to face a lower surface of the first driving part. The first driving part includes a first driving part of a first group configured to move the image sensor substrate in a first direction with respect to the lens barrel, and a second driving part of a second group configured to move the image sensor substrate in a second direction intersecting the first direction with respect to the lens barrel. The second driving part includes a second driving part of a first group disposed overlapping the first driving part of the first group in a vertical direction, and a second driving part of a second group disposed overlapping the first driving part of the second group in the vertical direction.
