A first segment is added to a path using the curve offset operation. The first segment is generated by aligning the first set of input points using an offset value based on the curve. A determination is then made that a second set of the input points do not satisfy the condition for use as part of the curve offset operation and a second segment is added to the first segment of the path. The second segment is generated using the second set of points and the path is displayed.
