BANDWIDTH INDICATION METHOD APPLIED IN WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18355940 titled 'BANDWIDTH INDICATION METHOD APPLIED IN WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK AND COMMUNICATION APPARATUS

Simplified Explanation

This patent application describes a method and apparatus for indicating bandwidth in a communication system.

  • The method involves generating a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) by a communication apparatus.
  • The PPDU includes a universal signal (U-SIG) field and an extremely high throughput-signal (EHT-SIG) field.
  • The transmission bandwidth of the PPDU is used for non-orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission.
  • The U-SIG field indicates the number of EHT-SIG Symbols.
  • The EHT-SIG field includes a field indicating the number of multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) users.
  • The communication apparatus sends the PPDU to a station.

Original Abstract Submitted

This application provides a bandwidth indication method and a communication apparatus. The method includes: generating, by a communication apparatus, a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU), wherein the PPDU comprises a universal signal (U-SIG) field and an extremely high throughput-signal (EHT-SIG) field, wherein a transmission bandwidth of the PPDU is used for non-orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission, wherein the U-SIG field indicates a number of EHT-SIG Symbols, wherein the EHT-SIG field comprises a field indicating a number of multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) users; and sending, by the communication apparatus, the PPDU to a station.
