USER EQUIPMENT, BASE STATION AND METHOD - A simplified explanation of the abstract

This abstract first appeared for US patent application 18349423 titled 'USER EQUIPMENT, BASE STATION AND METHOD

Simplified Explanation

This patent application describes a user equipment device that uses multiple SIM cards to communicate with different networks. The device includes a memory and processors that execute a program to perform various functions.

  • The device can communicate with a base station in a first network.
  • It can generate information that indicates a preferred time gap for the device to communicate in a second network.
  • If the device has the preferred time gap, it will transmit a message to the base station that includes the information about the time gap.
  • If the device does not have the preferred time gap, it will transmit a message to the base station that does not include the information about the time gap.

Original Abstract Submitted

A user equipment according to an aspect of the present disclosure, which communicates using a plurality of SIMs (subscriber identity modules), includes: a memory storing a program; and one or more processors configured to execute the program to: communicate with a base station in a first network; generate information indicating a preferred time gap for the user equipment to communicate in a second network; transmit, to the base station, a UEAssistanceInformation message including the information indicating the time gap in a case where the user equipment has the time gap, and transmit, to the base station, a UEAssistanceInformation message not including the information indicating the time gap in a case where the user equipment indicates that the user equipment does not have the time gap.
